CRITICAL ILLNESS INSURANCE

What if your critical illness protection could last until 100?

Get a Free 7x Critical Illness Quotation

In one of my posts, I shared how some critical illness plans can provide more than one major claim.

But what if you want even longer and broader protection?

Instead of your critical illness coverage ending at age 75...

What if it could continue until age 100?

And instead of having up to three major critical illness benefits...

What if you could have up to six major critical illness benefits?

You might be thinking...

“Kailangan ko ba talaga ng coverage hanggang 100?”

Fair question.

Most of us imagine critical illness as something that happens once.

You get diagnosed.

You receive treatment.

You recover.

Then life goes back to normal.

But what if it doesn't?

You might survive cancer in your 40s...

Then face a heart condition in your 60s.

You might recover from a stroke...

Then encounter another major illness years later.

And as medical care continues to improve, more people are surviving serious illnesses and living longer afterward.

That's good news.

But it also raises another question:

“Kung may mangyari ulit sa akin years from now, protected pa rin ba ako?”

That's where the length of your critical illness coverage starts to matter.

Some plans may end after a major claim.

Others may provide multiple claims but only until a certain age.

A plan designed to protect you for a longer period gives you another way to prepare for the possibility of facing serious illnesses at different stages of life.

Depending on the plan, you may have:

  • Coverage that can continue until age 100
  • Benefits for eligible early-stage or minor critical illnesses
  • Up to 6 major critical illness benefit claims, subject to eligible categories, waiting periods, and the policy's terms and conditions
  • Cash benefits that can be used for treatment, recovery, lost income, household expenses, mortgage payments, or supporting your family
  • A maturity benefit if you reach the specified maturity age without a major critical illness claim, subject to the policy's terms and conditions

So your protection doesn't necessarily have to end after your first diagnosis.

You can potentially have multiple opportunities to receive a critical illness benefit throughout different stages of your life.

My story

Back in 2016, when I received my first salary as a junior software engineer, I was excited to start investing.

But before I did, I decided to spend one month tracking where my money was actually going.

What I discovered surprised me.

My basic needs alone were consuming more than 70% of my take-home pay.

There wasn't much left to save—let alone invest.

That's when I realized something important:

The problem wasn't that I needed better investments.

The problem was that I hadn't yet built a strong financial foundation.

And no amount of investing could solve that.

So I began building my financial foundation that same year.

Whenever I had extra funds available, I invested them in software engineering books and online courses to increase my income and strengthen my long-term earning potential.

After several years of diligently following this 5-step framework, I finally reached the point where I could begin investing for long-term wealth accumulation.

In April 2025, I joined FWD Philippines and became a licensed Financial Wealth Planner so I could help Filipino parents build the same strong financial foundation for their own families.

Today, my mission is simple:

To help parents create a financial foundation strong enough to support their dreams, protect the people they love, and withstand life's unexpected challenges.
